Our Youth Program is a group-work program designed for 10-16 year olds who have experienced difficulty in their relationships with others and who want to improve these relationships and learn how to move from negative to positive behaviour and thought patterns.

This program runs one day per week from 10.00am to 4.00pm for four weeks.  Numbers are limited to 6 participants per group, and clients are required to commit to attending all four sessions as each week builds on the previous sessions' outcomes.

Once your application has been received, we will contact you for an interview.  At the interview, you will be asked to identify what goals/issues you want to work on whilst at the program.  Typical issues clients choose to work on are communication, behaviour, and self-confidence, however, it is up to you what you want to work on, and group members assist each other with their issues, and build on their strengths to find solutions. Once you have been accepted into the program, you will be advised when there are sufficient numbers to commence your program.

Our Youth Program is conducted by an experienced horse person, a qualified counsellor, and the horses.  This team provides a safe interactive environment for participants to experiment with their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours, and move through the change process, while supported by the team.

Some of the activities you may participate in include:  MySpace, Equine Billiards, Raging River, Life's Little Obstacles, and Packing for the Journey.  Although this program may be challenging, we use fun activities to promote your learning, and encourage you to look for the positive strengths you have but may have overlooked.
